Background:  Mr. Chan participates in the Chinese New Year Bazaar with business partners for the past 3 years. The products they sell are the own-designed home accessories, since their products are very outstanding; Mr Chan and his team had become famous. Each year Mr. Chan would go China and source appropriate manufacturers to do the production for them. Spending at least 4-6 months in average to identify an appropriate manufacturer is needed, also under the essence of time they couldn’t have time to compare among a few manufacturers. Hence the controlling of time and cost became difficult.

Experience with Alibaba.com:  Through Alibaba, Leon chan could identify a group of manufacturer, evaluate and compare among them to select the most appropriate ones for their production. They could be also able to identify and contact potential manufacturers outside of Guangdong Province easily, hence they have better choice over price and quality offered by manufacturer. With Trade Manager IM, both buyer & supplier have a direct open platform to communicate, which save a tremendous time in. This is the first time Mr. Ting used Alibaba to complete the sourcing and discovered they have saved 80% of time on sourcing and 50% of the capital cost. Leon is really amazed by the whole experience and thought he should have know Alibaba a lot earlier.
